Play catch-up!

Okay guys, yes we are alive!! Since our last update we have been through a lot! In a quick update collin and I got married on Aug 27th 2009! It was the best day of my life! The wedding went amazing and I am glad to say I married my best friend that day. Collin and I plan to go through the temple on aug 27th 2010 with our two boys to be sealed for all time and eternity :) I could go on about our wedding for hours but there is so much that has happened in the last 6 months! well here ya go...

The twins are here!!They were born on dec 17th 2009. My C-section went well and they both were pretty healthy boys. As I was laying there on the bed during the C-section I remember the feeling when they first pulled Riley out...Phew I can breathe! I remember I didnt hear him cry and started to freak out! Collin then left my side and went over to where they were cleaning baby Riley off and trying to get him to breathe! Second, " here comes baby B!" the dr. says. As they pulled baby Jackson (Jax) I remember the feeling of relief! but...yet again I couldnt hear him cry! Laying there by myself on the bed during the C-section not knowing what was going on was one of the worst feelings I have ever felt. After it was all said and done to make a long story short, Jax and Riley ended up in the NICU. Riley only spent about 4 hours there. Jax was there for about a week! I remember the feeling of only being able to hold ONE of my two babies. I cant describe the feeling. Its like...a mom trying to find her lost kid in the mall. Due to the hospital rules we could not take Riley down to the NICU to see his brother. It was 1 1/2 weeks until I could hold both of my babies at the same time. What a good feeling that was! One of the pictures I am going to post is the first picture of the boys together.

The boys are now 11 weeks old! Wow, it has flown by! All the sleepless nights, poopy diapers, and screaming kids all I can say is its SO worth it! being a parent is the best and hardest thing I have ever done. We have a lot of funny adventures that I will post soon! Please bare with me, I am a busy mom of two! Love you all much.

Once upon a time there was two perfectly normal people, one boy and one girl. Collin was your average 20 year old. Dating, playing water polo, and living life as a single 20 year old! And did he play that card well :) Alyssa, was just finishing up her 3rd school year at UVU in Utah County studying photography. Alyssa, also loved being a young single 20 year old and living her life to the fullest. About a year ago these two young 20 year olds met each other....Their life has been perfectly normal since then...They for sure will live happily ever after with no problems and surprises ever! Its truly a prince and princess story...

Okay Okay...So lets close that story book real fast! Yes, it is true that Collin and I met about a year ago. From that day on we will both agree that our lives have never been the same. I always thought that " love at fist sight" was SO lame! Well, its not that lame when it actually happens to you. Collin and I have been together about a year now and wow, ALOT has happened! Yes we still are your normal 20 year olds like in the first story and yes we will live happily ever after together, but for the no surprises part? yeah lets just tear that pg. RIGHT out!

April 23rd 2009 was one of the biggest surprises...I remember the phone call I ( Alyssa) had to make to Collin from my apt. at 2:00 in the morning. I never thought that seeing two pink lines would give you the...Well whats the word? Scary, surprising, wanting to pass out, and run for my life feeling? Well, it did just that plus some. Yes ladies and gentlemen yours truly is pregnant! From that night on, Collin and I had alot of growing up to do, and fast! Not to mention I had to get out of Utah County ASAP! I guess that honor code didn't really set in until it was broken. oops!

May 2nd 2009 The wait in the waiting room at the OBGYN was the longest most "crap I might have tacos under my arm pits from all the sweating I'm doing" wait in the world! We were trying to make light of things, by making fun of this poor poor dad who had a set of twins! HA! " Shoot me in the face if I ever..." Collin says. " Thank goodness we don't have to worry about that sweetheart" says Alyssa.
Once we were back in the room and were able to meet our Dr. things began to lighten up a bit. The cold goo all over my newly pregnant belly, and Collin by my side was something I never thought I would have to go through at the time. After some pushing and looking with the utrlasound the Dr. said the one word that would change me and Collins life forever...TWINS! Yes, Collin and I found out we are expecting twin boys this December!

Collin and I would both agree that, yes, maybe this is not the life we thought we would be living at the ages of 20 and 21. After many surprises, changes, and crazy times we would both agree that we wouldn't change a thing for the world! The feeling of being truly in love with your best friend and expecting not just ONE, but TWO boys with that person is one of the best feelings in the world. Surprises, changes, and crazy times are well worth it and we are planning on having many more to come! I guess you can say we will live happily ever after...and some :)
